چکیده
Raman microspectroscopy and thermo-optical-transmittance (TOT) method were used to study airborne ambient soot collected at the suburban air monitoring station in southern Poland during residential heating (January-February) non-heating (June–July) seasons of 2017. Carbonaceous material constituted on average 47.2 wt.% PM2.5 season 26.9 season. Average concentrations OC (37.5 ± 11.0 μg/m3) EC (5.3 1.1 significantly higher than those (OC = 2.65 0.78 μg/m3, 0.39 0.18 μg/m3). was a chief contributor TC mass concentration regardless All parameters indicated coal combustion biomass burning predominant sources Diesel soot, which is structurally less ordered from other sources, dominant The D1 G bands area ratio (D1A/GA) most sensitive parameter that discriminated between various with D1A/GA > 1 for diesel wood burning. Due high daily variability both TOT spectroscopy data, single-day measurements can be inconclusive regarding source apportionment. Long-time measurement campaigns are recommended.

15 صفحه اولRelating aerosol absorption due to soot, organic carbon, and dust to emission sources determined from in-situ chemical measurements
Estimating the aerosol contribution to the global or regional radiative forcing can take advantage of the relationship between the spectral aerosol optical properties and the size and chemical composition of aerosol. Long term global optical measurements from observational networks or satellites can be used in such studies. Using in-situ chemical mixing state measurements can help us to constra...
متن کاملEmission Properties of Fluorescent Nanoparticles Determined by Their Optical Environment
The emission rate of a radiating dipole within a nanoparticle is crucially dependent on its surrounding refractive index environment. In this manuscript, we present numerical results on how the emission rates are affected for nanoparticles in a homogenous and substrate environment. These results are general, applicable to any refractive index distribution and emitter.
متن کاملRaman Microspectroscopy of LiDNA Fibres
The conformation of low-salt LiDNA in fibrous form has been studied by Raman microspectroscopy. The recorded spectrum of a fibre soaked in ethanol is very similar to that of a fibre at low relative humidity. From x-ray experiments it is known that in the latter case the DNA adopts the C conformation. Therefore, it can be concluded that this is also the case in a low-salt LiDNA fibre soaked in e...
متن کاملDetecting anthrax in the mail by coherent Raman microspectroscopy
C specific optical imaging and sensing play a pivotal role in biomedical imaging, environmental sensing, and preventive measures to counter chemical and biological warfare. Frequently, objects to be imaged and identified are not present on a surface, and the light probe has to pass through layers of scattering material. In particular, the detection of weaponized anthrax in the mail room is an i...
